About the event
Homeostasis and Allostasis in Health and Disease, by Dr. Frank Willard Ph.D. - Professor at the University of New England - USA
What impacts does allostatic load have on different metabolic, neurological, endocrine, and immune systems? How does acute and chronic inflammation contribute to aging? What are the functional consequences and therapeutic approaches to prevent them?
Based on the definitions of concepts and the study of the physiology of the neuroendocrine and immune systems, Prof. Willard will explain the consequences of chronic allostatic load on the different systems (Nervous, Endocrine, Immune, Gastrointestinal, Renal, Reproductive and Musculoskeletal).
He will then detail the concepts related to inflammation (acute, chronic, low-grade), as well as their consequences on the different metabolic systems. He will conclude by discussing some avenues for treatment and prevention.
Thursday, Friday and Sunday will be devoted to theoretical and anatomical study
On Saturday , Dr. Frank Willard will give a practical demonstration on anatomical parts.
